An Out-Of-Network provider is a provider that is not credentialed with the client’s insurance - meaning the client pays the therapist upfront and the provider does not bill the client’s insurance. However, many insurance companies offer Out-of-Network benefits, meaning that is possible for the client to receive partial reimbursement for our sessions from the insurance companies. I recommend you contact your insurance carriers to better understand your Out-of-Network benefits. If you have any questions about this, do not hesitate to reach out to me.
If you’re using your out-of-network benefits, here are a few questions to ask your insurance provider about your benefits:
Do I have an out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage?
What is my out-of-network deductible? How much of my deductible has been met?
What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
What is the process for submitting claims?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of therapy services. This estimate outlines the expected fees for your care. While actual costs may vary based on factors like the length or frequency of sessions, I’m happy to provide a detailed estimate upfront so there are no surprises. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
